After buying the car, it turned out the battery was pretty weak, and there were a bunch of module errors because of it. I decided to buy a new one, and went with a Varta 6СТ-77 SILVER dynamic. I was offered an AGM, like the one that had been in there before, but figured it probably wasn’t worth paying extra for, since I don’t have start-stop.

After installing the battery, you need to code it in — change the manufacturer, capacity and serial number. We connect via VCDS and open the 19-CAN gateway module.

We select Adaptation-10 and look for the Battery-Adaptation-**** channel. We set the needed parameters one by one and press Test.

We clear the errors on all modules and that’s it — in theory, the coding should prevent any potential errors down the road.
