After buying a car with decent mileage (127,000 km), pretty much right away the question came up of doing a major service. Since the car is from the US, they’re not as fussy about maintenance over there, and after the restoration process here, the dealer that sold the car didn’t fuss much either — according to them, only the engine oil and filter had been changed. What oils and fluids were used before me — unknown.
I decided to put together a work plan:
— replace engine oil
— replace engine oil filter
— replace air filter
— replace oil in the DQ 250-6A transmission
— replace the transmission oil filter
— replace transfer case oil
— replace front and rear differential oil
— replace Haldex oil
— replace brake fluid
— replace coolant
— replace the low oil pressure sensor (error P164D)
— check the timing chain
The following consumables were used:
— engine oil Motul 5-W30 Specific 504 00 507 00
— engine oil filter Mann W 712/95
— air filter Mann
— transmission oil MOTUL MULTI DCTF 842711
— gearbox oil filter ZF
— differential oil Motul Gear 300 LS 75w-90 105778
— Haldex coupling oil SWAG 30101171
— brake fluid Bosch DOT-4 1987479107
— coolant Liqui Moly KFS G13 21139
— low pressure sensor Delphi SW90017
I decided to have it serviced locally at M-Sport Tuning.

Inspecting the timing chain showed it had been replaced not too long ago and should be good for another thirty thousand km or so.
The job took nearly a whole day. Now, for a while, I can just drive and enjoy it. The low oil pressure error also seems to have gone away, or at least I haven’t been able to reproduce it so far. Still need to replace the heater flap actuator motor — the heater doesn’t blow onto the windshield, and now that winter’s coming that will matter.
